Select 5 contestants to battle it out in an effort to light a fire the quickest using a magnesium flint.
Make a small pile of different items contestants can use to light their fires with. Things like: A4 paper, newspaper, coconut husk, bark, twigs, hay, dead grass.
Give each contestant a magnesium flint to use in their fire lighting efforts. Once each contestant has their fire lit they must then burn through a piece of string suspended a few feet above their fire.
Suggestions:
1. Light your fires on a piece of sheet metal so that it doesn’t damage anything or leave any marks.
2. Only provide a small amount of combustable items for each contestant so their fires don’t get too large.
