Overview
The Rave Cave, Sweat Box, Boiler Room, or whatever other crazy name you come up with, is something you can use in hangtime to get your young people dancing and getting sweaty and pumped before you even begin the night. It’s all about making a room or area that is tight and enclosed and cramming as many people as you can in there, pumping some sick beats and having a dance party.
What to do
All you need is firstly an enclosed area. If you have a small room, large cupboard, an old caravan or even just a space to make a box out of temporary fencing then that will do. If you use temporary fencing then glad wrap the whole thing so that is keeps some heat in and adds to the experience.
Once you have your space it is simply a case of cranking the music and getting as many young people into that space as you can. In such a small space the dance party will start itself. Make it so you rotate groups in and out of your Rave Cave, more than 5 minutes and they’ll probably pass out.
A recommendation is to have deodorant on hand so that they don’t all stink for the rest of the night and consider having same gender groups enter your Rave Cave.
Give this a go and be prepared for your young people to ask when the next Rave Cave night will be.
