PROGRAM SUMMARY
One Eighty is a program designed for students to be able to have a space during lunchtime to engage with other students and mentors. It’s a place where they can express themselves and develop their social skills and life skills.

What does it look like?

The One Eighty program runs once a week on any given lunchtime in a room chosen by the hosted school. The program best appeals to year 7, year 8 and year 9 students as they are forming and developing who they are as a young person. Students enjoy attending the One Eighty Program because of the entertaining games that the team run. However, these games help create an environment where students feel safe and open to discuss current trending issues in youth culture.

At the end of each lunch time program, one of the team members facilitates a 5-minute discussion around relevant developmental topics, for example: respect, how to deal with hard times, choosing friends, how to succeed in life, encouragement, attitude etc. Once this discussion is finished, a weekly prize is given away through a free raffle system. Teenagers are then encouraged to promptly return to their school routine and prepare for the afternoon classes
