Running a Formal event can be a great way to end your term or year. No preaching, no praise and worship, just a big party. Use the time to connect with your teens and build relationships with them.

Fairy lights are a must when it comes to running a formal. You can pick this up fairly cheap on eBay. Make sure you get the “warm white” colour lights and not the normal white. (warm white looks a lot nicer)
Get some of your crew to play some beats. Possibly even get some of your teens to do items if you have talented people. A good christian Dj also goes great for these types of events.
A cool entrance helps with the
overall “wow factor” of the night.
If you’re looking to save money…This is youth ministry after all. Don’t hire a red carpet. Just get some old off cuts from a carpet factory for free and paint them red.
Don’t forget to think about the boys when planing this event. Give them something to do. Skating, Xbox, & Pool all go great.
Lastly, a photo wall never goes a stray. Just print of a bunch of black and white youth logos, slap them on a wall and get someone with a DSLR and a tripod taking pics of the teens as they enter the building.
